Big-city reporter Jim Qwilleran is back on the beat, but he's not investigating serious crimes any more.  Beggars can't be chosers, and the only job he can get after a double-whammy of divorce and alcoholism, is an assignment as a feature-writer on the Daily Fluxion.  All is not lost, however:  the features editor turns out to be Qwill's old friend Arch Riker.  And an article on the local arts scene isn't the fluff piece Qwill feared.
